Summary
Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position in the laboratory of Dr. Erik Wright within the Department of Molecular Virology and Microbiology. This role is part of the Fundamentals in Bioinformatics (FunInBio) program.
The candidate will design and deliver innovative bioinformatics training for postdoctoral researchers and early-career faculty. The program integrates community-driven science projects focusing on environmental aspects of antibiotic resistance.

Job Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver bioinformatics curriculum for biologists
- Revise course content based on participant feedback
- Conduct in-person cohort teaching sessions
- Create structured online educational documentation
- Prepare reports, lesson plans, and analyze outcomes
- Publish findings and present at conferences (e.g., ISMB)
- Engage with programs like Bioconductor and SEA-PHAGES
- Support research and program-related activities
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or PhD in Basic Science, Health Science, or related field
- No prior experience required
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in bioinformatics, genomics, computational biology, or related fields
- Teaching or instructional experience
- Interest in pedagogy and scientific training
- Programming skills are a plus
